Harrison Ashton brings a thoughtful, horse-first approach to every ride, blending dedication with a genuine love for his horse and the sport. His commitment to building strong, trusting partnerships has guided him through every challenge in his career.

From his earliest rides to representing Great Britain at the European Championships –a moment he never once took for granted – Harrison’s journey has been defined by persistence and belief. “For a long time, it felt out of reach, and I proudly supported my friends as they were chosen, never certain it would be my turn.” Through hard work and dedication, he continued training and kept the dream alive. When the call finally came, he not only achieved three personal bests in every class but also helped the team secure a bronze medal, a testament to years of quiet determination paying off.

Central to Harrison’s journey is his mare, Million Dreams, a horse he calls “one in a million.” Their partnership embodies the trust, patience, and understanding that define his approach to training. Harrison believes each horse deserves time to grow, progressing at a pace that fosters confidence, strength, and long-term success, while celebrating every milestone along the way.

Training with Harrison is never monotonous. He mixes purposeful arena work with relaxed hacks in the forest to keep it fun. To build strength and understanding, he focuses on plenty of transitions. “Every ride starts with trust. If you don’t believe in your horse or the process,” he explains, “there’s no point getting on.” Looking ahead, he’s focusing on bringing several young horses toward Grand Prix level, building strength and confidence while enjoying each milestone along the way.

“I want to enjoy the journey with my horses, appreciating each milestone along the way and allowing them to progress at a pace that sets them up for long-term success.”
